Withdrawn Proposal: 'And I Stood Upon The Sand'
Removes 102
There are two types of Player in PTomic: Individuals and Alliances. Unless otherwise specified, 'Player' refers equally to either. 'Member' refers to any member of the Outpost Gallifrey Forum.
All Members are Potential Players. A Potential Player may become an Individual Player either by posting in the Thread a request to join the game or by taking part in a Move (by submitting a Proposal or voting in a Referendum). In either case, they become an Individual Player with effect from the beginning of that first post. The Name of an Individual is always their username.
A group of Players may join together to form an Alliance Player if one of the group posts a list of all the Players to join the Alliance and the Name of the Alliance and all of the group's other Players assent to the Alliance within 24 hours. As soon as they have all assented, the component Players cease to exist and the new Alliance Player comes into existence, with all the Points and Rules of the component Players. No Name may duplicate the Name of any existing Player or the username of any Member.
An Alliance may have as many Proposals in the Pool simultaneously as it has Members, and it has a block vote (which must be cast all in one direction) in Referendums worth as many votes as it has Members. (This Rule takes precedence over Rules 106 and 203.)
All Members in an Alliance are considered to be posting and playing as that Alliance Player, except if they post that they wish to leave the Alliance: in this case, that Member immediately becomes an Individual, and takes with them an nth (rounded down to an integer) of the Alliance's Points, where n is the number of Members in the Alliance before they left; and each of the Alliance's Rules is randomly assigned to belong to the Individual with a probability of an nth. If an Alliance has only one Member, the Alliance ceases to exist and the Member becomes an Individual, with all the Points and Rules of the Alliance.
If the Secretary joins an Alliance, the Alliance takes on the role of Secretary. If a Member leaves an Alliance that is Secretary, the Alliance continues to be Secretary. If an Alliance that is Secretary becomes an Individual, that Individual becomes the Secretary.
An Individual Player immediately ceases to be a Player if they post a request to leave the game or if they have not taken part in any of the past thirty-two Moves. If an Alliance Player has not taken part in any of the past thirty-two Moves, it ceases to exist, and all Members who were in it are no longer Players.Following the declaration of a result of a Referendum, Points are awarded, thus: If a Proposal is accepted with 2 or fewer votes against, each Player that voted against the Proposal gains 10 Points, and the Player who submitted the Proposal gains a random number of Points between 1 and 10 inclusive.
