Go! For Broke
When proposing a referendum a Player is required
To reveal how its subject has its own title inspired
Allowing other Players whilst voting to guess
What the Answer Pm doth in content confess.
One Player fell foul in this observation
Through multiple sources of inspiration
And in exploring a layered pun
Gave an answer of three parts instead of one.
Thinking that every link may not be guessed
He included in the Answer's text
What seemed a simple stipulation
That any Player might divest
Themselves of one third of the information
And still be correct if they'd answered best.
So it was PTomic entered into debate
Of whether such instructions held any weight
And whether it was possible to dictate
Events depending on developing conditions
Or whether the assuption of such a position
Would bring the game into perdition
Seceond guessing the hand of fate.
The motion of the game pressed on relentless
And the move described in this poem ended.
With it, the poet's remit to describe concludes,
But in doing so it seems safe to assume
(if not (a))
The weight of opinion against conditionals
Means their use will not resume.
(then (b))
A change in majority opinion may soon find us
Backtracking through future moves.
