373 'init'

Precedes: All earlier Rules

The Generalized Order Daemon (GOD) is an abstract entity with no existence outside the game, with automatic behaviour.

Time consists of a series of consecutive instants of zero duration.

Each instant, GOD checks the gamestate; checks for events; consults the Rules; then creates the new gamestate by applying the Rules to its information.

Changes immediately caused by the changes GOD makes in the gamestate occur during the following instant.

If two changes are to be consecutive, they occur in consecutive instants.

If multiple changes would otherwise be simultaneous, they occur - within an instant - in order of the ordinal numbers of the Rules that define them.
