A Referendum ends either when a majority vote has been reached or, failing that, after forty-eight hours.

A quorate Referendum must have at least two 'for' votes or 'against' votes.

A majority result within 24 hours will see the Proposer awarded five Oranges and known as 'Hero of the People'.

Any Players unable to vote during a Referendum due to server downtime can request an extension by posting ‘Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow’ before the Secretary announces the results. On confirmation of downtime the Referendum will be extended for 12 hours to allow the requesters time to vote, if this could affect the Referendum’s outcome.
